La Plata - Day One

For Father's Day, (which happened to fall on an Argentine holiday weekend), we headed to La Plata. La Plata is a city of 550,000 people about an hour south of Buenos Aires. It was a planned city which is home to a large number of Federal Government offices. Besides the government work, the city relies on tourism.

Here is the hotel that we stayed in. I do NOT recommend staying here. The lobby is nice, but the rooms were in desperate need of renovation, which might be an understatement. However in front of the hotel, in yet another small park, there was a small children's carousel. Although it was absolutely freezing, as evidenced by the photo of Peyton on the horse, they rode it over and over and over.




After our time on the carousel, we headed to see the Cathedral and City Hall, which large located on the opposites end of a large plaza..In the plaza, there is a small trains than circle the outer perimeter. There are many vendors selling bubbles and other knick knacks, as well as mini toddler go carts for rent.
